The ESOL Skills for Life programme is for adults aged 19 years and over who wish to make their home in this country - for example, settled immigrant communities, refugees, asylum seekers and migrant workers. This course has two start dates, one in September and one in February. This course follows the Adult ESOL Skills for Life Core Curriculum and focuses on speaking and listening. It is aimed at students who want to improve their communication skills and have already passed ESOL at Entry 2 level. At the end of the semester you will be entered for the ESOL Skills for Life exams with an external exam board
You must meet at least one of the following criteria to be eligible for this course: ? Those with settled status in the UK i.e. indefinite leave to enter or remain or Right of Abode (plus spouses of one year +). ? British Citizen EEA migrant workers/spouses (resident in the EEA three years). ? Those with recognised refugee status. ? Those with humanitarian protection/discretionary or exceptional leave to remain Proof of nationality/status is required e.g. passport/Home Office papers/ID card. Part of the admissions process students sit a test to check that have the appropriate level of English skills to sit the course, Alternatively students will have successfully completed ESOL at Entry 2

Participants will develop their employability skills and their ability to work in a team and on their own initiative. On completion they can progress on to ESOL Level 2.
