This course is for students who wish to improve their reading and writing skills
Who is this course for? Manchester residents with low level literacy skills to function in everyday life, gain employment and/or enter vocal training/education What will I learn on this course? You will learn to write/spell and recognise common letter patterns, read and write key words you need for your everyday life, read simple messages, write key personal information such as your name and address. How will I learn? This course is one session per week. You will work as a group, in pairs and on your own. You will be given work to practise at home. The more you practise the more progress you will make. What qualifications will I gain? There are no exams on this course but you can expect to gain confidence, improve your reading and writing skills and use them in everyday life/work. What could this course lead to? This course could help you begin to function more confidently in everyday life. You may be able to progress to a higher level English course and other courses. Can I join anytime? You can join the courses throughout the year, subject to available places.
This course to help with the very basics in reading and writing, develop your independence in the workplace and at home.
