This Apprenticeship is employed status only (minimum 30 hrs per week). For a new entrant into the care sector an Apprenticeship gives you an excellent grounding to develop a successful career as well as enabling long standing staff to further develop their existing skills and receive an approved qualification confirming their competencies and abilities. This Apprenticeship is ideal if you want to train for a career in the Health and Care sector. It is also suitable for those who already work within the Care sector. Intermediate Apprentices can progress to do an Advanced Apprenticeship. Advanced Apprentices can progress to QCF diplomas at level 4 and above (e.g. Higher National Diploma in H&SC or Higher Education), including, where appropriate, opportunities for progression to foundation degrees (e.g. Foundation Degree in H&SC) and higher education certificates.
You must be employed for a minimum of 30 hours a week in the professional area that your Apprenticeship is in. (we may be able to help you find an employer to complete your Apprenticeship with). You cannot have an existing qualification at a higher level than the Apprenticeship framework you have chosen. You need to be living in England and not taking part in full-time education.

Replacement for the NVQ Level 3, This qualification is aimed at care workers who have some responsibility within the workplace and who sometimes work without supervision. For those who wish to develop or demonstrate thier skills and prehaps become a senior care worker.
